Year of thanks: day 297 — Today is one of those mixed bag days. I had an emotional visit with Mom. While Dad and I were picking her up to take to his place, I ran into her Hospice social worker. She confirmed that Mom is going into the end stages of her disease. Tough to hear, but nobody wants her to suffer.

After my visit, Rick and I ate at one of our favorite places downtown, then spent a hour and a half roaming through an art museum on the river. Nice afternoon.

A personal rejection stung just a bit, but I know God is in control and has bigger and better things ahead. I hate being thrown from my comfort zone, but that’s exactly what God is doing. Now to see where he takes me. 🙂
