Day 361

Today I’m thankful for cold weather, a little shopping, and a visit from another of Rick’s cousins. I’m also thankful that I feel no guilt for not writing or critiquing these days. There’ll be plenty of time for that after I get home again. 🙂

Day 360

I’m thankful for a wonderful Christmas with family. But mostly, I’m thakful for Jesus, who is the reason for our celebration. Over the last couple of days, we’ve been able to visit cousins, second cousins, aunts and uncles. What a blessing.

Day 358

Today I’m thankful for a short drive from Baton Rouge to Houston. Once we arrived, we were greeted by one of Rick’s cousins and her family. What a treat! Lunch at Rudy’s, our favorite BBQ place, then The Muppet Chrismas Carol with the family tonight.

Excited for Christmas Eve and more family tomorrow. I miss my sister who is visiting one of her son’s in Canada, but I’m happy she’s having a great time and a well-deserved vacation.

Day 356

Today I’m thankful for cold weather–a rarity in Florida. I know it’s silly, but cold air tends to put me in the Christmas spirit more than warm air. I’ve spent Christmas day in jeans and I’ve spent it in shorts. I like jeans better. 🙂

I’m also thankful that Dad and I went out for lunch today. We talked about Mom, and how much we’ll miss her this year, but also how thankful we are that she’s celebrating Christmas with Jesus. You go, Mom!

Day 355

Today I’m thankful for some special time with my friends Jan and Pam. While having lunch at Cracker Barrel, we laughed and shared our love for one another. It’s hard to believe Christmas will arrive in 5 days. I love this time of year!

Day 354

Today Im thankful that I didn’t have any freebies. Lol! Had a good day of cleaning and laundry, and a fun, though short, time with Dad tonight, celebrating an early Christmas.

Day 353

Yesterday I was thankful for free Disney tickets, and today I’m thankful for free tickets (thanks to my daughter) to a free screening of Les Miserable. What an experience! So happy I didn’t have to wait until Christmas Day (or likely later) to see the movie.

Day 352

What a great day. Rick was blessed with some free tickets to the Disney parks. Since we only had today, we managed to hit Disney World and Epcot. At Epcot, we squeeked into a candlelight procession that included a 350 to 400 person choir, a symphony orchestra, and actress Alfre Woodard narrating the Christmas story (including the death or Christ). I was like being in an amazing church service.

I’m thankful for safe travels, despite the crazy people in Orlando. Lord, we saw some near misses! Thank you Jesus and angels for protection.

Day 351

Today I’m thankful for sitting in the sanctuary of our new church building. On the days I’ve not served, I’ve been absent. Even though my pastor was not there, I couldn’t have been happier. I’m also thankful for speaking to two (of my four)  my sisters today. We are all so spread apart, and though I know we won’t spend Christmas together, I look forward to time next year when we will honor Mom’s memory as a family.
